Ms. Shaheen Khan
 

Ms Shaheen Khan is a development professional with wide range of experiences in development research, social mobilization, capacity building and gender development. She has been associated with Water Engineering Development Center (WEDC), Loughborough University UK, as visiting research fellow for research on gender and development. During her nine years professional experience, she has been working for many international and national organizations, for poverty alleviation, leadership development, women rights and policy research. ADB, National Rural Support Program, Oxfam, UNICEF, ILO, Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority, University of Sindh & Population Council, are few to mention. She is widely traveled person and has participated in several national and international conferences.

She has done her MSc. Public Policy from University of Strathclyde UK and MBA from University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. She has completed certificate courses on Gender and Economic Policy Analysis 2006 at the Institute of Social Studies The Hague The Netherlands and International Leadership Development at United Nations University Jordan.

She has been awarded scholarships, fellowships, honors & awards:

  • The Netherlands Fellowship Program 2006 by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ISS
  • Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship 2004-05
  • DFID Shared Scholarship Scheme UK Government
  • International Leadership Program 2004, by United Nations University Jordan
  • Charles Wallace Visiting Fellwoship2004-05, by British Council Pakistan and CWT UK
  • Leadership Development Program 2002-03, by Lahore University of Mgt. Sciences
  • First position in Prime Minister Shield Debate Competition, 1997-98
  • Winner of Ladies Single And Double “Pak & USA Friendship Badminton Championship 2000”
  • Hyderabad Division Badminton Champion 1993
  • Won about 30 debate and sports competitions/ awards during academic career


She has undertaken the following major projects:

  • 2nd Flood Protection Projects, Social Mobilization component funded by Asian Development Bank

  • Rehabilitation and small micro enterprise development of former bonded laborers funded by International Labor Organization (ILO) 2001-02
