Mr Shaikh with MSc in Water and Environmental engineering from the University of Surrey United Kingdom and first degree of BEng (civil engineering) posses more than eight years wide range of field experience in research, management, designing, and planning, water supply, sanitation and community based infrastructure Development Programmes in Pakistan. 

He has expertise of technical researches such as Vulnerability Risk Assessment for surface and ground water resources using GIS and G.O.D techniques, Sanitary Hazard Risk Assessment, epidemiological risk assessment of water-related diseases such as cholera and Schistosomiasis and malaria, Drinking water system Surveillance and Monitoring and Food Security Assessment. 
He has expertise to design water and wastewater treatment facilities including physical, chemical and microbiological processes.
He has expertise of using different engineering, analytical and GIS soft wares such as HYDRO-1D, ArcView 3.3, MapINFO 6.0, AutoCAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, FlowCAD, and ExcelEng.
He posses a strong designing and planning skills and techniques for water and sanitation projects in Emergency situations and worked in different emergencies in Pakistan and abroad as a WATSAN expert.   
He has been awarded grant by Royal Society of Engineers UK for higher study. Study included visits, assessment and critical review of Storm Surge Barrier, Delft Hydraulics, Amsterdam Water Supply, Vitiens water supply, International Resource Centre -IHE, and MSF.
